You know the Oscars are upon us when suddenly everyone you know is on a juice fast, talking about dresses, borrowing shoes and making beauty appointments. After all, there is quite a party list next week, starting Monday with a round of Vanity Fair events and then Tuesday with the Costume Designer Guild Awards. So of course, the major New York beauty companies want to start bringing in some star branding by sending out teams to beautify actresses, producers, editors and stylists. After all, they've wrapped up their Fashion Week activities and are heading west -- with products and gift bags packed and loaded.
La Mer, the Estee Lauder brand famous for Creme de la Mer -- considered the most luxurious moisturizer in the world -- will take several suites at the Mr. C Hotel this weekend, where they will treat A-listers to La Mer facials, the most relaxing experience one could have pre-Oscars, defusing the stress -- and sneaking in a number of actresses who will try to remain anonymous. But many stylists will be swinging by before the craziness of earrings, shoes and bags kick in 'cause, God knows, their clients are going to at least five to 10 events.
On Thursday and Friday, Moroccanoil will give treatments at the new Robert Vetica at Ciel Spa in the SLS Hotel. Vettica is a famed celebrity hair stylist who is introducing his own hair spa, and Moroccanoil will be introducing their new skin care line. We have a feeling their new Hhiney and Dry skin oils will be at as many parties this week as we will. A good dress and good shoes demand good skin, after all.
