Jennifer Lawrence: Did 'The Hunger Games' Star Switch Stylists?
The actress, who co-stars alongside Bradley Cooper in "Silver Linings Playbook," does a 180 in terms of style - and it's got the net-o-sphere buzzing.
If you're a red carpet watcher like we are, then you've noticed that Jennifer Lawrence has REALLY changed her look this fall. At the Toronto Film Festival, while promoting her new David O. Russell film, Silver Linings Playbook, she had dark hair -- and instead of the bombshell gowns and dresses she donned for Hunger Games appearances, she went much more modern, sleek and grown up. This weekend, at the New York Silver Linings premiere, she wore a very grown-up Dior spring 2013 tuxedo suit, with a bra peaking out, a black silk bow scarf at the neck and Dior fuschia clutch.
We learned today that for these differing and edgier looks, Lawrence worked with Rachel Zoe as her stylist - for both the Toronto Film Festival and for the New York premiere of her new Oscar-contention film. Normally, she works with stylist Elizabeth Stewart, who also dresses Jessica Chastain and Amanda Seyfried and Cate Blanchett. Clearly, Lawrence wanted to try something new - and this Dior tux look, from designer Raf Simons' first ready-to-wear collection, is definitely it - sexy, chic and not trying too hard. Of course, Lawrence is the new face of Dior's Miss Dior fragrance, and she's been wearing a ton of Dior since that announcement. But Dior has bombshell dresses too - but it's always smart for an actress to do a style-180 for attention.
When an actress' hair and makeup and entire look changes, it usually means a new stylist is at play. Is Lawrence going for a whole new style - or will she go back to working with Stewart? It's hard to say at this point, but whoever winds up with Lawrence as a client is going to have a very good awards season, since her performance in this film, with Bradley Cooper, is drawing nominations-buzz.
