MATTISON:
A tireless search for the perfect suit and jacket prompted tech entrepreneur Derek Mattison to turn to clothing design. His namesake collection which features finely tailored menswear (think trousers, shirts, denim, ties, handmade shoes, and his signature narrow lapel jacket) debuted at the Dec. 1 launch of his Mattison boutique on Melrose Place. The space, designed by Commune LA—the firm behind the Ace hotel downtown and Opening Ceremony in Tokyo—features a marble fireplace, dark floors and hanging plants that descend from modular forms. The store, like the brand itself, is carefully curated and sophisticated. “I wanted to create a high-end user experience -- a relaxed atmosphere where clients feel special,” said Mattison.

ALPHA PRESENTS APT2B POP-UP SHOP:
Holiday shopping just got a tad easier with the two-in-one combo of Apt2B and Alpha. The online furniture, design and housewares site partnered with Alpha, the hip resource for men’s gifting loved by CAA’s Jim Toth and Rachel Zoe, (think Jack Spade wallets and totes, Marshall headphones, and Baxter of California cologne), for a pop-up shop at West Hollywood boutique, Satine. The two previously teamed up over the summer for the “Alpha presents Apt2B Pop-Up Shop” and the brand’s founders were pleased with the results. “We realized that we share an aesthetic and customer base that appreciates [Apt2B founder] Mat [Herman] and my taste level,” said Alpha’s Darren Gold. The “Home for the Holidays” edition of their pairing will offer customers in-store specials and a chance to view Apt2B’s online merchandise in person.
(The Apt2B+ Alpha Home for the Holidays pop-up will be located at 8134 W Third Street Los Angeles, CA 90048. Now – Dec 31 store hours will be Monday -Saturday from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
STORY: 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kyle Richards to Open Local Boutique
KYLE BY ALENE TOO:
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Kyle Richards dresses like an on-trend, modern woman (unlike some members of the Bravo franchise), and now Los Angeles fashionistas can score her style secrets. Richards joined with upscale fashion retailer Alene Too, in order to create Kyle by Alene Too. The partnership includes a Beverly Hills boutique—the shop has a concierge service and customers can schedule appointments with personal shoppers—and a fully stocked website (expect to find popular brands such as Matthew Williamson, Parker, Haute Hippie, J Brand denim and vintage Chanel goodies). In-store shopping can easily turn to people watching: Richard’s fellow Housewives’ Lisa Vanderpump and Camille Grammer were recently spotted feteing the new boutique.
