Jean Paul Gaultier Introduces His Third Limited Edition Diet Coke 'Tattoo' Bottle
The avante garb designer relied on his fascination with body art for his latest bottle design.
Iconic French designer Jean Paul Gaultier -- also the 2012 creative director for Diet Coke -- has released his third Diet Coke bottle design, entitled "Tattoo."
According to Diet Coke’s press release: "‘Tattoo’ showcases Jean Paul Gaultier’s passion for body art." Yeah, we get that.
This is Gaultier's third collectable limited edition Diet Coke bottle, which have included previous designs named "Day" and "Night," which played up the feminine form in a corset for night, then with the more masculine Breton sailor stripes for day. Both designs were released in April 2012.
Gaultier took over as CD of DP when Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld stepped down. Previous Diet Coke designers have included Matthew Williamson, Gianfranco Ferrè, Marni, and Roberto Cavalli

It's worth noting that Skinny Pepsi snagged U.S. designer Betsey Johnson’s style endorsement for her 2012 New York fashion show. What is it with diet sodas and fashion designers? Oh, right -- designer sample sizes and super skinny fashion models.
The Gaultier bottles will be available this month in major cities across nine countries across Europe, though the U.S. may have to wait a while. Oddly, we can find no mention about how much these limited edition bottles cost. Guess it's like that old saying, "If you have to ask...."
