Jessica Chastain's Alexander McQueen Oscar Gown on Sale for $30K
Sure, the nominee's black-and-gold gown is a tad pricy, but it comes with a built-in corset.
Jessica Chastain's Academy Awards gown, designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, was voted the Best Oscar Dress by Twitter users after the Academy Awards -- so every woman who saw it probably wants this dress.
But not many can actually afford it. (Story of our lives, right?) But if you've got enough spare cash, the almost identical black-and-gold embellished strapless gown is now for sale on Net-a-Porter.com for gulp... $28,950.
The Oscar nominee's dress is described on the site as: "Crafted with a couture-like sensibility, Alexander McQueen's silk-faille gown is a magnificent showcase for the brand's breathtakingly unique aesthetic. Tumbling tiers of silk-organza create a silhouette that is both dramatic and undeniably elegant, and the intricate gold embroidery and embellishment is even more beautiful up close. A neat clutch and earrings are the only additions you'll need to complete an unforgettable evening look"
Of course, Chastain accessorized her McQueen with $ 2 million worth of Harry Winston yellow diamonds.
More details: 100% silk; lining: 74% acetate, 26% silk. Black silk-faille and silk-organza with gold and bronze sequin embellishment, embroidery and metal threadwork, sweetheart neckline, boned, underwired and molded internal bustier, flared peplum waist, tiered ruffled skirt, and it's fully lined with a concealed zip fastening at the back. Specialist clean only.
The fabulous gown is available in two sizes: IT 40 and IT 42. The good news is that you won't need to wear a special bra. The built-in corset will take care of any heavy lifting.
