The singer and fashion designer posted a new photo of 8-week-old Maxwell Drew on her Twitter page Tuesday with the caption, "Howdy friends."

There are lots of responses ranging from “she’s so cute” to “congratulations” to “she looks like you” from her fans about Baby Maxwell, who Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson welcomed on May 1.

"I absolutely LOVE my family!" Simpson, 31, tweeted last week. "Maxwell amazes Eric and I everyday with every little thing she does!"

Simpson also tweeted a photo of her cleavage, which is considerably (and understandably) far more ample than it was pre-pregnancy with Maxwell.

Naturally that photo received lots of comments, mainly from men, most of which we just can’t print. But here’s one. “Dayum! Haha! Nice Jess."

But since the new mom has a lucrative new spokesperson contract (reportedly $3 million) with Weight Watchers, we will all get to witness her slimming-down process over the coming year. (She got the ball rolling by announcing the news on Twitter after giving birth.)

As well as launching a maternity clothing line, Simpson sold Maxwell's first baby photos to People magazine for a reported $850,000, although the issue didn't get the circulation boost the magazine hoped for. Although the cover got quite a lot of good buzz, it only sold 950,000 copies – way under its average of 1.3 million a week.

We have to wonder: was the dip due to Simpson or the alleged airbrushing errors on her cover photot? Several outlets -- including Huffington Post --  cited five major blunders including flattened out eyes and elongated fingers. In blog polls, the reader responses were overwhelmingly in agreement that Simpson looked "unnatural."
