Johnny Depp Gives Surprise Performance With Marilyn Manson at Golden Gods Awards (Video)
The actor, who will receive CFDA's 2012 Fashion Icon award, displayed his rock star sartorial splendor while performing two songs at L.A.'s Nokia Live.
Johnny Depp, the Council of Fashion Designers of America's pick for their Fashion Icon Award, displayed his unusual style sensibilities during a surprise cameo at Revolver's Golden Gods 2012 Awards last night.
Many fans in the audience at L.A.'s Club Nokia didn't take notice of Depp -- wearing a feathered, turquoise beaded black fedora, a short-sleeved shirt and jeans -- until Marilyn Manson shouted to audience, "If you don't recognize my personal friend... my personal savior, my personal guitar hero, Johnny Depp!"

The crowd roared in approval. Pretty Reckless rocker Taylor Momsen (best known for her former role on TV’s trend-setting series, Gossip Girl) was dressed like a metal fan's dream girl with platinum hair, a long slit leather apron, a black leather bra, garter belt and platform heels. Amazingly, she was quite adept at gyrating on Manson, rubbing her head on his thighs and getting down her knees while they sang "The Dope Show."

As for Manson, there's not much need to describe his eternally scary look, is there? The show drew Heavy Metal heavyweights, including Kiss’s Gene Simmons, Shannon Tweed, Lemmy, Slash, Adler, Anthrax, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Gilligan Stillwater, Carl Verheyen of Supertramp, Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Barbie, Machine Head, Suicide Silence, Sixx:A.M, Yngwie Malmsteen and X-Japan.
Depp appeared to be having a blast playing guitar. The 48-year-old, who began his career in a rock band before turning to acting, thrilled the crowd by playing guitar with Manson during his famous cover of Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" and his 1997 track "The Beautiful People."

The actor, whose new film Dark Shadows opens next month, has been hanging out with a lot of rock stars of late. When he wasn't busy shooting The Lone Ranger, he partied with Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen at the Foo Fighters' after-Grammys party in February.
And on June 4, Depp will be the first male recipient of the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDA's Awards held at Lincoln Center in New York.
