Karl Lagerfeld Takes Flight, Ricky Gervais Flunks Fashion, Jean Paul Gaultier Pays Homage to Amy Winehouse

From the beehive hair and the cat-eye liner to the varsity jackets, corset tops and cigarettes, Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring Couture show in Paris on Wednesday was all about the late Amy Winehouse, who died last year at age 27. There was even a Winehouse model-clone wearing the finale bridal gown.

Apparently, Karl Lagerfeld likes to fly the friendly skies. His Chanel spring-summer couture collection was an ode to the TV show, Pan Am. The catwalk was a blue carpet inside a lifesized jumbo jet complete with luggage lockers and a champagne trolley. Cameron Diaz was blown away. "This is the chicest flight I've ever been on," she declared. See more photos of the show here.

But while the airplane setting was unique to the 250 fashion VIPs and journalists, Lagerfeld had a trial run of this flight in 2007. He used Barker Hanger in Santa Monica for his resort collection and decorated it like an airport lounge complete with cocktail bars, personalized flight bags on each and every seat, and arrival/departure screens listing "Chanel Line" flights. Two huge planes pulled up to the hangar and dozens of models deplaned and walked the circular runway.

Actress Sienna Miller and her sister Savannah Miller have broken up with their clothing line. "We've had a brilliant six years at Twenty8Twelve and are now looking forward to new pastures," the Miller sisters said in a statement. "We wish the brand the best of luck for the future."  "Twenty8Twelve London" will continue but will not be referred to as "Twenty8Twelve by s. miller."

Want to pay more for Victoria’s Secret lingerie? Strangely, the company thinks you do, which is rather odd considering the jobless rate in the U.S. Their new Designer Collection will range in price from $38 for thongs to $298 for corsets. And the more expensive undies are now available online and in select stores, including two NYC locations.

WWD gives Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais a barely passing grade of D. But not for his absymal hosting skills. Instead he flunked for his lack of sartorial splendor at the awards show: a shiny red 70's prom suit by Ted Baker.
