Karl Lagerfeld's Cat Choupette Stars in Net-a-Porter Fashion Promo
The Chanel designer is not in favor of dressing animals in clothing. But his BFF cat stars in the shopping site's video for his exclusive new line Karloflauge.
It was only a matter of time before Karl Lagerfeld’s fluffy white kitty, Choupette, starred in her own film for the luxury fashion website Net-a-Porter.
You can go to the website to see the Choupette clip, shot from her viewpoint at a photoshoot for Lagerfeld's new line of separates called Karloflauge, done exclusively for the high-end shopping portal.
Most of the 12 pieces are black and white. But there is a bit of color and shine: a very cool red leather motorcycle jacket, a slinky silver sequined dress and a red and purple camo print stretch jersey dress we've got our eyes on.
The promo shows the fashion feline leisurely scratching herself during the shoot.
Typical supermodel behavior. Not even a year old and already a diva.
Herr Karl has said many times that he does not believe in dressing animals in clothes. He considers it too "circus-like." And, frankly, we agree when it comes to cats, who never suffer fools’ fashions well.
But as long as we’re on the subject of designers and their pets, check out this gallery of 25 designers and their dogs.
The gallery includes Donatella Versace and her Jack Russell, Isaac Mizrahi and his mixed breed Harry, Dries Van Noten and his Airdale Harry, Roberto Cavalli and his German Shepherd Lupo, Italian for Wolf, Norma Kamali and her Dachscund Zeke, Tom Ford and his two Fox Terriers Angus and India. Vera Wang and her Yorkies and Papillon named Cooper, Sam and Lucy. Marc Jacobs and his bulldog Terriers Daisy and Alfred and Valentino with his famous pugs, Milton, Molly, Margot, Maude and Monty.
Wait, so is Lagerfeld the only designer who has a cat? That can't be true.
