Kate Middleton Rocks a Jenny Packham Turquoise Gown at British Olympics Gala
The Duchess of Cambridge had some changes made to the gown that originally was shown on Packham's Spring/Summer 2012 runway last Fall.
The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, 30, was a guest of honor at a star-studded gala dinner Friday night celebrating Great Britain's Olympic atheletes at the Royal Albert Hall.
And she carried herself swimmingly in an eye-catching bright turquoise gown with lace details, her hair pulled up in a chig chignon, with a matching turquoise clutch. The stunning gown was designed by one of the Duchess's favorite fashion names, Jennny Packham. According to runway watchers, the gown was first spotted in Packham's Spring/Summer 2012 collection last Fall in a pale green hue.
This turquoise fabric appears to have been chosen just for Middleton, who favors all shades of blue. And there were a few alterations made to the original design. Kate's neckline is not as low as the runway gown, and higher lace created a more demure decolletage, as befitting a member of the Royal Family.
Her clutch bag was made from the same brocade as the side panels of the gown. But she wore the same silver leather Jimmy Choo platforms that she'd worn earlier this week.
Kate has really brought her A-game to this Olympics event and also stepped her hairstyle, losing her loose waves for the sophisticated updo created by the hair team at the Richard Ward salon in Chelsea.
Oh, yeah. And her husband Prince William looked great too.
