Katie Holmes' Post-Divorce Profile Set to Propel Her Fashion Line
The actress' celebrity stock has risen since her swift departure from Tom Cruise's side.
On June 29, Katie Holmes, 33, filed for divorce from 50-year-old Tom Cruise, her husband of 5 1/2 years.

Overnight, the divorce proceedings exposed Scientology to intense public scrutiny; experts weighed in on whether the young actress could possibly stand up to the powerful and extremely wealthy church. And yet, Katie seems to have done just that and more.
After what must be one of the fastest divorces in Hollywood history, it was reported yesterday that the terms of their split include Holmes' sole custody of daughter Suri, though Cruise will have visitation rights.
What’s next for Katie? A stable and happy family life, we hope. But her personal profile has risen in stature and her professional image has skyrocketed, making her upcoming fashion ventures (she's a new judge on the reality show Fashion Star) and her increasing focus on her Holmes and Yang collection (with longtime stylist Jeanne Yang) sound promising indeed.
A look back at Katie's past appearances on red carpets – from her Dawson’s Creek days to the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party – is proof that Katie has always had a very strong sense of personal style.

The former Mrs. Cruise has worn clothes from many international designers over the past 6 years – including Cruise’s go-to guy, Giorgio Armani, who dressed both families, even Suri, for for the couple's 2008 wedding.
But in the past two years Katie has frequently worn designs from her Holmes and Yang line. She;s worn her own line to the 2009 White House Correspondent’s Dinner, the NY premiere of Ghost Protocol and the Jack and Jill premiere. Other events include the 2011 Giorgio Armani Vanity Fair dinner as well as the premiere of Guillermo Del Toro’s horror movie, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.
Wearing her own designs will no doubt increase as she strikes out on her own as a strong, smart, self-sufficient, take-no-prisoners young woman and devoted mother. What woman won't want to dress like Katie? And can a beauty contract or a hair product brand ambassadorship be far behind? We think not.
We can’t wait to see what Katie and Jeanne have in store for us at the upcoming Spring/Summer 2013 New York Fashion Week, where they will hold a private presentation for select buyers and press.
