Kim Kardashian Calls 'Mad Men' Star Jon Hamm 'Careless' For Calling Her 'Stupid' (Poll)

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian takes Mad Men star Jon Hamm to task after he referred to her as a "f---ing idiot" last week. She has spoken out (on her Twitter account, naturally) about his disparaging comment.

Hamm was actually speaking out against the entire cult of celebrity in April’s Elle UK magazine, saying that it made people such as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian into millionaires.  

"Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated,' he told Elle UK magazine. "Being a f---ing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly."

Hold on, Mr. Hamm. Kim tweeted: "Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless. I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another.”

She has a point. After all, like it or not, she has become a fashion icon and has several successful clothing lines, including one at Sears and a new one -- K Dash -- on QVC, as well as a shoe line for BeDazzled. 

Hamm also took a shot at The Hills stars (and where did they disappear to, anyway?) Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, who became overnight tabloid sensations.

“Spencer Pratt and Heidi Whatever—I’m sorry, they don’t deserve it. They haven’t done anything, and they are celebrated for nothingness.”

Well, one could argue that all performers are guilty of being paid way more than they should for doing very little. Especially when you boil it down and realize that actors and reality stars are both pretending to be either a variation of themselves or someone else entirely, be it on a scripted TV show or movie or an unscripted (and who believes that, right?) reality TV show.
