Lana Del Rey Goes Nude on Cover of British GQ's 'Men of the Year' Issue
The singer is the only woman on one of the magazine's five covers for their special issue. Bet she outsells Robbie Williams and "Mad Men" star John Slattery.
Believe it or not, Lana Del Rey has been chosen as British GQ's Woman of the Year.
So naturally, she celebrated by taking all her clothes off for one the five special covers celebrating the mag's 15th annual Men of the Year issues. Tinie Tempah, Robbie Williams, comedy actor James Corden and Mad Men's John Slattery also appear on the alternative covers.
The Born to Die singer, aka Lizzy Grant, wears nothing but a diamond and sapphire necklace, bracelet and ring in the photo but thankfully crosses her legs as she leans against a wall.
She accepted the Woman of the Year award in London this week, recalling the cover photo shoot with Vivanco in Monaco.
Introduced by Boy George, who compared her to that of Marilyn Monroe, she took the stage and thanked editors for bestowing her with the coveted title.
In a monotone voice that expressed zero emotion, she said, “We had a beautiful shoot in Monaco and I had a really interesting interview -- for a change -- and I was reminded of why I love to sing and why I wanted to become a writer.”
"Also," she continued, "Paul, the creative director, was very hands on with the shoot.' ”
Laughter rippled through the room as most everyone turned to look at GQ's red-faced creative director, Paul Solomons.
"In fact, if you see inside the magazine -- in the middle of the spread -- you'll see a hand hoisting up one of my boobs," she added. "That's Paul's hand. Couldn't have done it without him."
They just sold about a million more copies of that issue.
