Madonna Launches a 'Truth or Dare' Shoe Line To Be Sold At Aldo (Poll)
The Material Girl joins the ranks of Halle Berry, Rachel Bilson, Fergie and Jessica Simpson, with a branded shoe line.
Ever wanted to walk a mile in Madonna’s shoes? Well, now you can. Literally. Well, maybe not a mile. But you could definitely make it from the valet to the club or restaurant.
Madonna is finally getting around to marketing her name and brand. First there was her (and her daughter’s) Material Girl clothing line, then a Truth or Dare fragrance collection at Macy’s. Now comes the news that she’s also launching a line of Truth of Dare shoes as part of her celebrity brand that will eventually include clothing, intimates, accessories, body care, etc.

There are over 60 styles in the footwear line being produced in collaboration with the Aldo Group. The fancy footwear will range in price from $89 to $349. Madonna's longtime friend, personal stylist and W.E. costume designer Arianne Phillips, will serve as creative consultant. Phillips, who was nominated for an Oscar this year for her costumes in the Madonna-directed film about the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, certainly knows the diva's taste and style.
"Her fingers are really on this brand," Phillips says. "The first thing I did was remind her of all the shoes she wore over the years, and we took the styles that we can't live without. You can always depend on her to bring her style and provocateur quality, but she also has a very feminine perspective."

Madonna's business partners say the new line isn't just about her celebrity.
“I don’t really look at it as a celebrity line,” Neil Cole, CEO of Iconix Brand Group Footwear, told reporters. “The fact that Madonna is our partner is an added twist.”
It’s probably a good thing he feels that way. Her Truth or Dare fragrance reportedly targets women age 27 to 50. It’s unclear if women -- who were fans of hers in the ‘80s -- will want to wear shoes like this now that they’re, (like Madonna) over 50.
She's certainly right in step with the marketing trends of 2012. Other celebs with shoe lines include Halle Berry, Natalie Portman, Cheryl Cole, Jay-Z, Rachel Bilson, Fergie, Jessica Simpson, and tennis star Maria Sharapova.
