Marni and H&M Celebrate Their March Launch With a Hollywood Party
Sofia Coppola and Margareta Van Den Bosch will host a private dinner for Consuelo Castiglioni.
For those who still are crying in their lattes about missing out on Missoni for Target -- here comes another biggie low priced fashion launch: Marni for H&M.
The retail giant will be putting a big collection of Marni boho chic pieces created just for it on sale on March 8, which will include women's clothes, men's, jewelry and shoes. And Marni is most famous for its tribal-style oversized necklaces and bangle bracelets, and their cooler-than-cool shoes.
Will it sell out in one day, like Missoni? Will it crash computers all over the world? It wouldn't surprise us - though there will not be any homewear or bicycles in the Marni collection. Just really cool clothes. Still, there are sneak peak pics online of the pieces, and there are brights, patterns and polka dots for every age group, by Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni.
Marni and Castiglioni are such favorites of the Hollywood crowd -- Reese Witherspoon is an unabashed fan of the label - that both Marni and H&M are coming together for a special private dinner on Feb. 17 in a Los Feliz residence. Right in the middle of Oscar madness! The hosts are Sofia Coppola -- coming all the way from Paris -- along with Castiglioni herself, who rarely travels to Los Angeles (her fall 2012 Milan fashion show will be the following week) and Margareta Van Den Bosch, who runs H&M in Sweden. Obviously, this is a big launch, and will make Marni much more of a household name in the U.S. like it is in Europe. But the middle of pre Oscar week? Obviously, they're not afraid of a little competition!
