Mick Jagger's Ossie Clark Sequin Jumpsuit Up For Auction At Christie's
The Rolling Stone frontman favored the late British designer's sexy skintight styles in the '60s.
Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger has always had a thing for fashionable women. He and his first (and only) wife Bianca Jagger were huge fans of British designer Ossie Clark, whose designs were all the rage in the swinging '60s, worn by top models Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton and Penelope Tree.

Mick, whose latest fashion-savvy girlfriend, stylist/designer L’Wren Scott, has designed his new tour costumes, recalled his Clark jumpsuits in a recent interview, praising those jumpsuits — including a blue velvet style and a low cut unitard — for their comfort and ease.

For a price, you can own a previously worn Clark jumpsuit that's up for auction on Christie's (starting bid of $12,744).
According to the auction site's description, this flamboyant lace-up sleeveless jumpsuit is made of pearl white velour, and is embellished all over with silver metal poppers backed by transparent sequins. While unlabeled, it was designed by Ossie Clark for Mick Jagger for the Rolling Stones' U.S. Tour in 1972, which followed the release of their iconic album Exile on Main Street.
Unless a man were Jagger-skinny, this would not fit — although it might do for a woman size 2 to perhaps size 8.STORY: Pete Townsend on Mick Jagger's Anatomy: 'Huge and Extremely Tasty'
But keep in mind that all of Jagger's hip-swiveling took a toll on his costumes.
“You can see the pelvic wear and tear from all the gyrating,” V&A museum curator Kate Dorney told The Guardian in 2009 when asked about one of the rock star’s Ossie-designed costumes in an exhibition.
Luckily, Clark always made sure Mick had several backups just in case something ripped.
No word on whether the still-lean Jagger — now 69 — will don revealing cut-out jumpsuits or even go shirtless for the Stones next tour. But Jagger's specially designed J. Brand black jeans, made just for his tour, are sure to undergo a more-than-fair workout.THR's Daily Must Feeds
