Charlize Theron showed up to the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night in a right-on strapless red Lanvin peplum dress. She had worn a black Lanvin to the Palm Springs Film Festival back in January, and a peplum Stella McCartney to the BAFTA tea back in February -- so we know she's a fan of both. We don't remember her wearing crimson red before, but it suits her -- and she wisely eschewed jewelry and lipstick, and let the red dress work it's own magic.
While so many film and tv stars show up at the MTV Movie Awards wearing something wildly inappropriate -- Leighton Meester's short short white skirt, for example -- Charlize is always perfectly positioned in the middle of chic and appropriate. Asked about her style consistency -- consistently right -- she said, "You have to really try not to be trendy and to be comfortable. I have be able to put it on and feel like me. I gotta give my team all the credit." Interestingly modest -- but she seems to mean it.
