Naomi Watts was absolutely one of the best dressed women at Cannes this year. Wearing a specially made jazz-age, pale pink Gucci frock to the Vanity Fair-Gucci dinner at the Hotel du Cap, the actress out-flash-bulbed everybody else.
Watts doesn't even have a film at Venice -- she arrived to the premiere of the opening night ceremonies on the arm of Liev Schreiber, who stars in The Reluctant Fundamentalist -- in an amazing Marchesa dress from resort 2012-2013.
The caramel colored frothy gown has an interesting combination of elements -- a high "bateau" neck (or boat neck, which goes straight across the neck and doesn't dip), ruffle sleeves, a lace overlay (big trend), and a deep low back. Plus, the red lips really make it pop.
She also chose some striking Chopard jewelry to compliment the vintage-inspired lace frock: Brown and cognac diamond chandelier earrings set in rose gold and a yellow and white diamond bracelet, also set in rose and white gold.
A lot of leading ladies tend to dress down when supporting their actor partners (Angelina Jolie, for instance), but Watts did not do the shrinking violet thing. Now that's fashion confidence.
