THE MOOD/INSPIRATION: Wang – newly named Creative Director of Balenciaga, said he was inspired by boxing – and this could be seen in the oversized fuzzy mittens and gloves – but fuzzy was an inspiration throughout – fur mixed with leather, different textures of fuzziness matched together in all blacks, charcoal or dove grey – and boxiness was a trend throughout, too: boxy shaped jackets and cropped boxy trousers. This is a big New York trend we saw on the street in September and while it disappeared for spring 2013, it's back in a big way for fall. Considering this winter's arctic temperatures in the east, boxy might be the way to go.

COLORS, FABRICS: Black, charcoal, dove grey, a cordovan red (that worked great in leather), red, white. Lots of wools of varying thickness trying to out fuzzy each other

KEY TRENDS: Boxiness, texture play, tough girls ready for the street, leather and wool pairings, oversized jackets, big mittens

RELEVANCE TO HOLLYWOOD: This whole look screams New York – but leathers are always good in L.A. - still Wang's shoes and handbags are his best selling Hollywood pieces. And those soft soft t shirts.

RED CARPET WATCH: These aren't particularly red carpet clothes, but mixed in with dresses on some stylist New York girl – Anne Hathaway, maybe – they'd look dead chic.
