New York Fashion Week: Calvin Klein Draws A-List Stars
Jessica Chastain and Olivia Wilde sat front-row at the designer's Fall 2013 show.
WHO: Calvin Klein
WHAT: Fall 2013 runway show New York
WHEN: February 14, 2013
THE FRONT ROW: Jessica Chastain, Olivia Wilde
THE MOOD/INSPIRATION: Military-meets-minimalism with sharp masculine/feminine tailoring.
COLORS/FABRICS: Forest green, black, midnight blue and anthracite. There were chic alpaca coats, mohair and wool/cashmere dresses and wool-felt skirts and leather dresses. Shiny vinyl for knee-high boots and panels on dresses and coats.

KEY TRENDS: Plaid. Box-pleat skirts. Cinched waistlines -- there were wide belts, medium-sized belts (with big modern-looking metal buckles) and super-skinny belts. Mixed textures. Open back tops. Menswear-inspired tailored styles. Strong, padded shoulders. Supermodels -- Caroline Murphy closed the show.
RELEVANCE TO HOLLYWOOD: Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana and Olivia Wilde are all Calvin Klein girls. "I loved the collection!" Wilde told The Hollywood Reporter. "The green 40s-style dress was my favorite." The actress' stylist, Karla Welch, wasn't at the show with her because she was in L.A. prepping for the Oscars. Wilde said she won't be in town for Hollywood's biggest night: "I'll probably still be in New York for work." Too bad. Based on the sexy 70s-style Gucci she wore to last year's Vanity Fair Oscar bash -- Wilde always makes a splash on the red carpet.
RED CARPET WATCH: More daytime than evening, but there was a sparkly, semi-transparent black chain-embroidered dress that was super chic. Also, a wool mesh and lace bustier dress that would be a less formal yet very cool and cutting-edge (think Rooney Mara) choice for red carpet.
