THE MOOD/INSPIRATION: Kaufmanfranco's design duo, Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco, chose a good girl/bad girl theme for their debut runway collection at New York fashion week. The show opened with a daring onyx python-effect plunge dress and over-the-knee boots (Manolo Blahnik for Kaufmanfranco). Black leather mini skirts, leather coats with fur trim and slinky leather pants followed. Kohl-rimmed eyes (courtesy of Gucci Westman for Revlon) and black ribbon chokers at the neck played up the edgy, bad-girl side.

COLORS/FABRICS: Predominantly black with slate gray, olive and emerald green. High-tech stretch materials, leather, mink fur, shearling, sequins and crystals.

KEY TRENDS: Little biker jackets, skinny pants, mini skirts, leather done downtown sexy and uptown chic (an elegant camel leather-and-felt shift dress paired with long black gloves). Plunge necklines and slashes for evening plus, sheer mesh panels and revealing illusion backs.

RELEVANCE TO HOLLYWOOD: Kaufmanfranco has had a strong red carpet presence this awards season including Nashville's Connie Britton in a ginger-hued crystal and sequin gown at the Golden Globes; 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski in a coral-tangerine plunge dress with sequins at the SAG Awards; and Girls' Allison Williams most recently in a black diamond-encrusted column at the Grammys.

RED CARPET WATCH: Girls' Williams (styled by Cristina Ehrlich) could pull off the onyx crystal-encrusted scuba material gown that closed Kaufmanfranco's show -- it's the right amount of covered up yet revealing with a sheer mesh strip down the front and a completely bare mesh back. And, the opening LBD with a navel-grazing neckline and the olive green silk crepe plunge gown are sure to pop up on red carpets because there's no shortage of double-stick tape in Hollywood ... or good-bad girls that want to push the dress code memo.
