Penelope Cruz's 'Most Interesting Love Scene': Being Topless With Meryl Streep
The sultry Spanish actress tells the story of an awkward photo shoot and declares that she'll be spending more time on motherhood than acting.
Penelope Cruz, an Oscar-winning megastar in her own right, has her own bouts of fan craziness when she runs into her hero, Meryl Streep.

“When I first started watching movies and I saw Meryl’s work, I became obsessed with acting, she tells Harper’s Bazaar in their new cover story. “Now I kiss her whenever I see her! She must think I’m crazy.”
That admiration certainly put an extra twist on what she calls “the most interesting love scene I ever did:" a photo shoot for the AIDS charity (RED) campaign. “As soon as she got to the set, I had to sit topless on top of [Streep],” she recalls.
Cruz is set to once again work with her Vicky Cristina Barcelona director Woody Allen in his upcoming comedy, To Rome With Love. But after that, her film roles may taper off. Now married to actor Javier Bardem, 43, she's practicing a better balance between her career and her home life.
“Maybe I’ll make one movie a year, maybe two, but it’s not going to be more than that because I have other priorities now,” she said of her 1-year-old son, Leonardo.
The couple, who first met when she was just 17 on the set of comedy Jamón Jamón, alternates between Madrid and Los Angeles, and makes stops on film locations as well.
The red carpet queen's favorite designers include L'Wren Scott, Azzedine Alaïa, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano. And her critierion for choosing a gown is simple: "All I look for is to be able to breathe!"
She always has to remove the tight dress to eat her ritual post-Oscar treat: "an In-N-Out Double Double monster cheeseburger with everything on it." In other words, no gluten-free diet for this curvy beauty.
