People's Choice Awards Brings Out Diverse Fashion Spectrum
Emma Stone wore pants, Jennifer Lawrence was in blue lace - and Lea Michele wore an over the top white fringed gown to Monday's event.
Between the Palm Springs Film Festival Gala -- which was January 7 -- and the Golden Globes, which are this Sunday the 15th -- there are a lot of events that have no prescribed dress code.
Like the New York Circle Critics Awards this week, which drew Jessica Chastain (in a green Lyn Devon shift) and Viola Davis (in a pink metallic Ports dress) in cocktail looks; or the National Board of Review awards the next night, at which Carey Mulligan wore an amazing Lanvin bubble sleeved dress, Keira Knightley a black lace Nina Ricci dress and Chastain a lovely black with rose print Zac Posen dress with a full skirt and tight bodice.

But the People's Choice Awards are the hardest to dress for: a well rated network media event, the awards have little cred, and fashion insiders have no interest in them. But plenty of folks at home are watching them. And the photos till run all over the net, right?
Not surprising, then, that we saw an across-the-board spectrum of looks there: Emma Stone in a stunningly chic Gucci spring 2012 tuxedo suit with an emerald green jacket (from one of Gucci's best collections ever), Jennifer Lawrence a bit more dressed up in a cute cobalt Viktor & Rolf blue lace shift -- and Lea Michele in one of the most over the top dresses we've EVER seen: this full on white fringed gown from Marchesa.

She would have been better off wearing this to the MTV Awards! Next to the ladies in the more casual chic, she looks like she's trying way too hard.
