Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell and Willem Dafoe's Next Project: The Fall Prada Campaign
The designer had movie stars walk the catwalk for her fall 2012 mens' runway show in Milan. Now, she's putting male stars in her ad campaigns.
OK, so Brad Pitt's doing a Chanel No. 5 ad. He's not the only actor/model in town! Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell and Willem Dafoe all posed for Prada's fall ad campaign. While actresses have been getting major fashion (and beauty) ad campaigns for some time, now it's the actors' turn!
Oldman is obviously a particular favorite of Miuccia Prada -- he walked in the Prada fall mens' show, along with Adrien Brody and Tim Roth earlier this year. The Prada fall ad was shot by photographer David Sims, giving them all the authority and dignity they deserve. Prada's choices reflect actors at different stages of their careers.
“In the campaign each leading man plays a different archetype, layering codes of dress in a subtle parody of power and role-play. Exaggerated poses and conspiratorial glances hint at the game, a palm solemnly placed on the heart or into a pocket with precise formality,” concluded the company. The images will start turning up in magazines in three weeks, likely in August issues of mags.
