Rashida Jones Teams Up With Trendy Fashion Label Band of Outsiders for Film Screening
The actress, who often wears the brand, hooks up with them for an upcoming event promoting her latest film, "Celeste and Jesse Forever."
Invites have been sent for a private screening of the Sundance hit Celeste and Jesse Forever, starring Rashida Jones and Andy Sandberg, which happened to pique our interest since it's co-hosted by Sony and the cool fashion label Band of Outsiders.
It's obvious Rashida, who also wrote the film, is a friend of the brand. The actress wore the label last September to a New York event, and she's paired Band of Outsider pieces with other divergent brands -- like putting a BOO skirt with a Commes des Garcons jacket and an American Apparel top. She also wore it while promoting her film in Park City, at the Sundance Film Festival, earlier this year.
Q&A: Rashida Jones on Her Screenwriting Debut, 'Celeste and Jesse Forever'
We don't see a lot of fashion brands co-hosting screenings or movie premieres, unless their clothes are featured heavily in the film. And while this isn't the film's official premiere, it's probably aimed more at Hollywood insiders and friends of Band of Outsiders.
After a little digging, we discovered that Band of Outsiders take their name from a 1964 Jean-Luc Godard film noir crime story about two crooks who decide to stage a robbery. It's one of those cult films that artsy people often refer to.
Meanwhile, we fully expect Rashida to be wearing the line to screening, and also, in the film. The clothes appear everyday at first, but they always have an interesting twist that makes them unique.
