What the world needs now: fancy dress shocks. That's according to Rob Kardashian, who's launching a line of upscale socks for those with a similar fetish for quirky, colorful designs.
"I feel like everybody likes a dress sock," Kardashian told the Huffington Post. "No one wants to see a boring tube sock. I am very passionate about it and I think guys and girls agree with me. Plus you can give your dress socks to your girlfriend when she sleeps over."
He wants to start out out simple. "Just dress socks, nothing else, nothing more," he said. "I am working on a dress sock line of funky, colorful, cool designs. I am meeting with manufacturers and you will be seeing and hearing about it soon. I have all these designs in my head and I am very into it."
Kardashian, momager Kris Jenner's only son, is making a name for himself apart from his ubiquitous, money-making sisters. He recently appeared as a celebrity contestant on the latest season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, catapulting from the lower ranks to frontrunner. (J.R. Martinez took home the trophy.) The Kardashian women have scored partnerships with various companies including Sears, which carries their Kardashian Collection. But he's not interested in using the K-name to his advantage.
"I don't care about the Kardashian brand at all," Kardashian said. "This is something I have been wanting to do. I don’t care for it to be a 'Kardashian' thing. I haven't made a final decision with the name, but I have no intention of doing something in front of the camera for monetary gain."
