'Twilight' Star Robert Pattinson Talks About Having a Big Wedding in Real Life

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart finally get married in Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1. OK, their characters Bella Swan and Edward Cullen get married and then take a fabulous tropical honeymoon and consummate the marriage. We're not giving away any spoilers because there may be someone out there (under a large boulder) who doesn't know what happens next. Hey, anything's possible.

Anyway, the wedding is set in the woods with a Midsummer Night's Dream decor including a canopy of white blossoms, the aisle scattered with petals, garlands, flickering candles, a gigantic cake, and giant tree stumps. Bella's Carolina Herrera wedding gown is an elegant white satin gown with long sleeves and aa sexy see-through lace back. From the front, it rather reminds us of Kate Middleton's bridal gown. Bella also wears a low veil on partially braided hair, a sapphire and diamond hair clip and some very high white heels. Edward's tux is an Edwardian long black tailed affair with a white vest.

At the Four Seasons today, we asked Pattinson, if -- having been a part of the big fancy Breaking Dawn wedding -- he would ever want an elaborate wedding in real life.

His studied reply: "It does seem like a bit of a hassle. I was just doing an interview with Kristen (Stewart) and she got angry with me for saying that the groom's role in a wedding is basically just as a prop. Even playing the part, it's such a clear indication of whose day it is when you're standing at the end of the aisle and the entire congregation is looking the other way. And you're in the same suit as every guy in the wedding and she's a princess dress walking down the aisle. Any guy who tries to get involved in organizing a wedding or even has an opinion on what the wedding should  be is really ridiculous. It's whatever your wife decides to do."

So that's a no? "I really don't mind," he admitted. "I just won't want to have to wear a silly outfit."

Unfortunately, we didn't get to ask Rob our other question: if he would want to be in the delivery room when his future wife gives birth to their future baby. After the controversial Breaking Dawn birth scene (which Rob describes as "something out of a Luis Bunuel film, being stuck between an emaciated dummy's legs chewing a placenta and getting cream cheese all over your face and strawberry jam and pulling out a 3-week old (rubber) baby with a wig on." We worry that this experience may have scarred him for life.
