The acclaimed fashion house of Missoni and the international supermodel/entrepreneur Iman will be honored at the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style on October 23 at 7 pm. The event will take place on the legendary shopping street and will include a special silent auction to benefit Save the Children. The charity helps families affected by the east Afridan food crisis. Iman, born in Somalia, is the organization's ambassador.
The award -- launched in 2003-- honors style legends for their contributions to the worlds of fashion and entertainment. Past recipients include Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Herb Ritts, Mario Testino, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gianni Versace, Donatella Versace, James Galanos, Manolo Blahnik, Valentino and of course, Mr. Rodeo Drive himself. Fred Hayman.
The gorgeous model and three generations of the Missoni women will be the 17th and 18th recipients inducted into the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style. Iman may bring her husband, legendary musician David Bowie. We can only hope and pray. She, along with Angela and Margherita Missoni will receive their plaques on Rodeo Drive, featuring a signature and a personal quote.
We're betting the Missoni plaque will be pretty near their flagship store opened at 469 N. Rodeo Drive last year. And no, no, there will be no handprint ceremony. That's the Walk of Fame.
