Rooney Mara has come out of both the acting and fashion gates with full guns blazing. Her entire wardrobe throughout the promotion of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has been an example of a young actress who really knows what she likes and what suits her - which also seems to incorporate her Lisbeth Salander short bangs and black hair and pale skin. Mostly, she's worn dramatic black - or white - with the black dresses (by Prabal Gurung and Valentino) always seeming to have risque cut outs at the abdomen. Well, if we had her abdomen, we might show it off too.
At the Golden Globes, she certainly did not disappoint: her black gown was tulle Nina Ricci from Paris - the label all the chicest women in the world want to wear. While it was tight and slinky with a cut out at the cleavage, it also had an elegant tulle peplum - so Parisienne. We asked the young star how it is how she managed to make a wardrobe of at this point about 15 looks or more so incredibly consistent - she's building a true cohesive look that's her very own.
"Well, I'm the one who has the wear the clothes, so I have a big hand in choosing them," Mara told THR. "I'm not the woman who's a doll who will be dressed up by someone else. I like what I like, and I want it to represent who I really am."
We love that Rooney had on not ONE drop of jewelry - except one tiny ring, her own. We learned her stylist is Ryan Hastings, a young man who also dresses Mia Wasakowska - and unlike most stylists these days, he never does interviews.
