The Spring 2013 Joseph Abboud Collection Will Be Based on 'Drive'

We had dinner with the Creative Director of Joseph Abboud, the Spanish menswear designer Bernardo Rojo who lives in New York-- what a dapper genteel man -- at the Chateau Marmont on Wednesday night this week. He was joined by manager Chris Huvane, Flaunt magazine's Luis Baraja, various fashionistas and male actors (who love wearing Abboud) -- and Rojo confessed to Fash Track that he's now designing spring 2013 -- and it will be based on Ryan Gosling's jacket in Drive.

The jacket is rather eighties retro, very sports styled, almost a baseball jacket in style, with its tight waist -- and Rojo thinks this is how men will want to dress after seeing the movie.

"I think it's very modern, no?" he asked. "It's retro, and it's so out in a way that it's in. This is true of the movie too. So as I draw this new collection, I have the music and visuals of Drive in my head. And of course, Ryan Gosling in the jacket!" We look forward to seeing the result - the spring 2013 menswear shows are in January 2012.
