Glenn Close has almost always worn gowns and pantsuits by her old standby, Giorgio Armani. So the fact that she wore Zac Posen to Sunday's SAG Awards means both that the young designer's people approached her -- and that she must have really loved this particular dress, from his resort 2012 collection.
It suits Close quite perfectly. The gown's wrapped tulle sleeves offered coverage with a sexy glimpse of the arms, and had a great bustline and lovely train. It was of the best and most flattering dresses she's ever worn, made from taffetta and tulle, clearly a custom-made Posen confection.
Given her atypical fashion choice, it's safe to assume the Oscar-nominated Albert Nobbs star is saving longtime friend Armani's gown for the Feb. 26 red carpet.
