Who Wins SAG Best-Tressed Updo: Dianna Agron, Sarah Hyland, Emma Stone or Octavia Spencer (Poll)
Most actresses wore their hair up for a more formal look. But who wore it best among the SAG attendees from "Glee," "Modern Family" and "The Help"?
It's very common for actresses to pile their hair up high for formal Hollywood occasions and big red carpet awards shows. For one thing, wearing their hair up and off their shoulder shows off the actresses' designer gowns and their kazillion dollars of loaned jewelry more effectively. All the better for stylists, designers and jewelry companies' promotional purposes.

But high hair also lends a certain air of importance to an event. We saw a lot of very nice up-dos on actresses such as Modern Family stars Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen, Natalie Portman, Emily Blunt, Iron Lady Meryl Streep, Bridesmaids Kristen Wiig, 30 Rock Tina Fey, Glee star Amber Riley, and Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory.
But these are our SAG stand-out picks for their unique twists and gown appropriateness: The Help actress Emma Stone's updo with a flirty side bang accentuates her black strapless Alexander McQueen tea-length dress. And her Help costar Octavia Spencer's retro '60s flashback beehive, atop her silver short-sleeved Tadashi Shoji gown, is an attention-getter.

We also love Glee star Dianna Agron's braided updo that compliments her elegant Carolina Herrera raspberry gown. And let's not forget Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland's romantic updo with sweet tendrils, perfect for her old world Temperly of London gown, accessorized by Neil Lane jewels.
