Skechers Insists Kim Kardashian Was Not Replaced By a Bulldog in Super Bowl Ad (Video)
This year's commercial will feature a dog racing in Skechers' new high tech running shoes.
Don't look for Kim Kardashian to redux her sexy Skechers Super Bowl TV commercial this year. Last year she was all sweaty in skimpy workout gear promoting Skechers Shape-Ups as she broke up with her very hot trainer for the exercise shoes.
In 2012, a French bulldog named Mr. Quiggles will wear Skechers' new high tech GOrun shoes as he races and beats a pack of sleek greyhounds. And Mark Cuban the new owner of the Dallas Mavericks will make a cameo in the lifestyle-oriented TV spot.
But after USA Today wrote that Kim was dumped for a dog, Skechers CEO Leonard Armato denied the allegations.
"Kim Kardashian has had a tremendously positive effect on the Skechers brand. Not only did Kim's Skechers Super Bowl ad generate over 1.6 billion positive media impressions for Skechers, but she played a big part in Skechers moving up last year from 388 to 99 among companies with the highest brand trust," said Armato.
"While Kim's contract with Skechers simply came to an end at the end of last year, we continue to have a great relationship with her as we do with all the other talent who have worked with the brand over the year," added Armato. "To say that she was 'dropped' or 'replaced' is misleading and untrue. Skechers has enjoyed and continues to enjoy the relationship with Kim, and in fact we continue to discuss ways that we may work together in the future."
We can only hope for another hot Super Bowl Kardashian commercial next year.
