'Snow White' Star Kristen Stewart Reveals Her Androgynous Side in a Provocative Fashion Shoot

The "Snow White and the Huntsman" star pulls off a Helmut Newton-style fashion spread just a few days before she'll hit Cannes for her new film, "On The Road."

Elle Magazine

Kristen Stewart tackles yet another edgy role, playing herself and a male version of herself in a fashion editorial in the June issue of Elle.

The Twilight star is shown with a dapper young gent in a very Helmut Newton-inspired series of fashion photos. But the gentleman in question is actually Stewart, dressed as a man. And in one shot, her male side is undoing the collar of her female side’s shirt. With hair slicked back in a masculine style, Stewart is Marlene Dietrich dapper in a black suit, open-neck white shirt, black tie and suspenders. In one shot, her female side wears a crocodile bra by Tom Ford.

She also graces the cover of the mag in a beaded tulle dress from Ralph Lauren Collection, and a white gold bangle from Roberto Coin. Stewart is certainly having her Fashion Moment. She wowed on the Snow White U.K. red carpet in a Marchesa illusion sheer black lace gown. And she just won a huge style honor, being named Glamour UK’s Best Dressed Woman of 2012, beating out chic contenders such as Kate Middleton, Emma Watson and Michelle Williams.

The photo shoot took place on March 13 at Milk Studios in Los Angeles. The mag's creative director, Joe Zee, and photographer Tom Munro worked with Stewart, drawing inspiration from Yves Saint Laurent's muse Loulou de La Falaise and Helmut Newton’s provocative style. Stewart wore Balenciaga’s menswear-inspired looks and feminine pieces from Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu.  To see more of the photos: click here.

It’s pretty safe to say that Stewart -- the face of one of Balenciaga's fragrances -- will be wearing something fabulous from head designer Nicolas Ghesquiere's couture collection on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.

She’s got a heavy fashion crown on her head now and all eyes will be on the 22-year-old actress. But with her trusty power stylist Tara Swennen by her side, we have a feeling she's going to look -- and feel -- fabulous.
