Spice Girls Costumes to Be Auctioned for Charity
The 90s girl group will sell their iconic outfits to raise money for underprivileged children.
Hot on the heels of announcing their upcoming musical Viva Forever!, the Spice Girls are now planning to auction off some of their most famous wardrobe pieces at a benefit gala to mark the show's opening. All proceeds will go to the charity organizations Save the Children and Children in Need, reports the UK's Daily Mirror.

The idea came from former Spice Girl and mother-of-four Victoria Beckham, who is a supporter of many charities including Children in Need.
"I've got all my costumes still. I can't wait for Harper to grow a little so she can have some," said Beckham of her 11-month-old daughter. "But the rest I'd like to put for charity, I think it would be a fantastic thing to do."

The blast-from-the-past costumes will include Beckham's leather black dress she wore as "Posh", Melanie Brown's leopard-print bodysuits, Emma Bunton's baby-doll tops, Melanie Chisholm's "Sporty" track suits and Geri Halliwell's mini-dresses. Also for sale are the wedge sneakers that Beckham was never fond of.
"She hated them – she wouldn't wear them," said Halliwell.
The group, who split 12 years ago, appeared at a promotional event for the upcoming show on June 26 at London's St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, the first time they have been together since their 2007-2008 reunion tour.
Viva Forever!, from Mamma Mia producer Judy Craymer and written by British comedian Jennifer Saunders, will feature a number of the British group’s hits and will open in London on December 11 at the Piccadilly Theatre in the West End. The British group first gained fame in 1996 with the release of the single "Wannabe" off their debut album Spice. It went on to sell 28 million copies worldwide.
