The trouble is that once you cut bangs you've got bangs for quite a while, as anyone who has tried growing them out will attest. And if you don't like the look, you're looking at many months of wearing headbands or side hair clips.

These two celebrities were brave enough to make the cut in 2011. Country/pop singer Taylor Swift's blunt bangs make her look less country girl and more edgy downtown girl. Our favorite Gossip Girl Leighton Meester's long dark brown fringe must give her a break from her character Blair Waldorf's polite Upper East Side do.

Kristin Chenoweth could have been included in this Hairdo Round-Up but she confessed to Ellen Degeneres on her talk show that her new bangs were not real, just fake hair extensions.

Shhh. We would never have known, Kristin. And frankly, we don't want to know. We just found out that Jennifer Aniston wears hair extensions and our world will never be the same.
