Tony Bennett Signs Deal for Benedetto Fashion, Textiles Brand
The 85-year-old singer and entertainer appointed Excel Corporation as his licensing agent. The company also plans to move into textiles, kitchenware and specialty foods.
Well, it's never too late to be a celebrity fashion entrepreneur, is it? Excel Corporation, a New York licensing and branding company, sent out a press release today that says it's been appointed the exclusive licensing agent for iconic singer Tony Bennett, through his Benedetto Arts LLC group.

Excel Corp says it plans to move the brand into fashion apparel and accessories, textiles for the home, and kitchenware and the food specialties market. Does Benedetto want to be the next Martha Stewart -- or the next Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger? It sounds like a real mix here.
But it is kind of fabulous to see where an 85-year-old crooner icon might take a fashion and textiles brand!! It's not clear how much involvement Bennett himself will have - but he's certainly always been a sharp-dressed man.
