The Tony Awards, held at the Beacon Theatre in New York on Sunday (June 10) turned out to be a very, um, revealing event.
Three of the awards presenters --- Jessica Chastain, Amanda Seyfriend and Sheryl Crow -- wore very sexy and sheer lace designs on the normally staid Tony red carpet.
Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain wore a gasp-worthy transparent lace dress by Mario Schwab, with Harry Winston jewels, and Giuseppe Zanotti heels. She didn't seem very concerned about her revealing gown and told THR.com how nervous she was about her starring role in the Broadway revival of The Heiress this fall.
Amanda Seyfriend, 26, chose a stunning colorful spaghetti strapped, lace bodice Givenchy dress and sandals with Fred Leighton jewelry.
She was part of the opening number with host Neil Patrick Harris and presented the award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical to Nice Work if You Can Get It to Michael McGrath.
Seyfriend will next be seen around the holidays in the film adaptation of Les Miserables, along with another red carpet favorite, Anne Hathaway.
Sheryl Crow looked gorgeous in Marchesa’s metallic Illusion gown. This was the singer's first public appearance since revealing her benign brain tumor. She’s currently working on the musical score for Barry Levinson’s Broadway production of his movie, Diner.
