Kristen Stewart Shows Some Skin in J. Mendel Gown at 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' Premiere (Poll)

The actress breaks out of her miniskirt mode in a long dress -- but not to worry, there's still a lot of leg on view.

Kristen Stewart has been showing off her gorgeous long pale gams for months in all manner of micro-mini skirts. Many recent appearances -- The Tonight Show and her handprint ceremony - actually required her to wear black Spanx underneath to prevent any embarrassing Lindsay Lohan-style peekaboo paparazzi photos.

But at Monday night's Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 premiere, Stewart opted for an elegant long purple and black sparkly gown by J. Mendel on the black arrivals carpet.

Fittingly, it literally is a dress to die for, giving the subtle and provocative illusion of bare skin underneath the velvet and sheer panels. She also wore a Neal Lane platinum and diamond cocktail ring with a single sapphire.

But Stewart still gave a darn good leg show thanks to the gown's thigh-high slit. And surprise, her long black hair (for her role in the action fairy tale adventure Snow White and the Huntsman) was worn up in a mock French twist.

Breaking health news: E! Online's Marc Malkin reports that Stewart suffered a painful foot injury Monday on the Snow White set but braved the premiere anyway. She signed autographs in sneakers and then slid into heels for the carpet.

Robert Pattinson, her on- and off-screen beau, and her BMF Taylor Lautner joined their lovely leading lady for photos. Nikki Reed also looked spectacular in a long pale green Marchesa gown, Jimmy Choo shoes, Sutra earrings, a Neil Lane ring and a Judith Leiber clutch.
