Marie Claire Magazine's Hollywood Dinner Brings Out the (Well Dressed) Stars
Jessica Pare', Lea Michele, Elizabeth Olsen, Melissa Leo, Leslie Mann, Olivia Munn and Zoe Saldana come out to welcome new Marie Claire editor-in-chief Anne Fulenwider to Hollywood.
When longtime Marie Claire editor Joanna Coles was "bumped upstairs" to succeed Kate White as the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan this year - her number two, Anne Fulenwider, succeeded her to become the new Marie Claire editor-in-chief. This week, a cast of A-list actresses welcomed her to town, as Marie Claire hosted a chic little dinner in the private patio room at Fig & Olive restaurant.
Fulenwider gave a great toast, and with her chic pants look and Lanvin jewelry, fit right in among the actresses. She actually looks like one, and is the best advertisement for a fashion magazine we can think of. There aren't all that many truly chic EICs at magazines (THR's Janice Min being an obvious exception!), and Anne is certainly now in those ranks. We look forward to seeing her looks at fashion weeks upcoming.

One of the following ladies in the room was in fact the mag's January 2013 covergirl, and you'll know who soon enough, as it's on newsstands next week. That means if could be Mad Men's Jessica Pare', Olivia Munn, Leslie Mann (who left early to do a talk show in support of her new film, This is 40), Elizabeth Olsen, Lea Michele (with stylist Estee Stanley) and Zoe Saldana are all candidates.
Michele donned a nude satin bodysuit by Maria Lucia Hohan, with a pale brocade skirt. Pare' looked utterly 1950s pre-Mad Men in a navy fit n' flare halter dress with a wide pouf skirt. Elizabeth Olsen wore a chic printed silk pajama look. Zoe Saldana slinked around in a pencil skirt, top and jacket and high heels, and was off to shoot in the morning. Olivia Munn's ruffle neck black sheath was quite chic -- but the funny lady had everybody in stitches the whole night, leaving with two of the table's many flower displays, because "Zoe Saldana took one and I need to do what the more famous girls are doing."
Pare' also let her bobbed hair down by showing her still-incredible exuberance for playing Megan Draper on the legendary cable drama (and now WGA nominated for 2013). "I was in New York the other day," she told THR, "and someone looked at me and said, 'Are you on Mad Men?" And I said, 'I AM! Isn't it amazing? Can you f'ing believe it?"
Generally, actresses tend not to show this kind of joy in public -- unless it's about a gown.
While there are cocktails and events every night of the week in town at this time of year, this intimate dinner , where everyone let their hair down, including pr's Annette Wolf and Ina Treciokus - was truly special - truly unique.
