Balenciaga on the Red Carpet
6:07 AM PST 2/28/2013 by Erin Weinger, Stephanie Chan
American designer Alexander Wang officially made his debut at Balenciaga on Thursday, when he showed his first collection for the storied house at Paris Fashion Week. The 29 year-old has quite a legacy to follow — first behind Christobal Balenciaga himself (the man invented the bubble skirt, after all) and then with designer Nicolas Ghesquiere, who took the reigns of the label in 1997 at just 27 years-old and has since been credited as being one of the most important sartorial voices of the current generation. Style makers from Nicole Kidman to Charlize Theron have all worn Balenciaga under Ghesquiere's watch. Here, a smattering of our favorite on-carpet looks.
