Jimmy Fallon: From Early 'SNL' to Movie Star to 'Late Night'
Jimmy Fallon's ascent has been rapid; in a decade and a half, he has gone from new cast member on "Saturday Night Live" to the future host of the "Tonight Show." Here's a look at his greatest comedy moments.

Part of Fallon's Late Night success comes from his massive online following, so his role as Jarrett in the stoner webcam spoof seems prescient. His sidekick, played by Horatio Sanz, was often so outrageous, they fell into hysterics.

Between 2000-2004, Fallon was the co-anchor of SNL's signature news program, alongside Tina Fey.

One of his most famous roles on SNL came as Sully, one half of the "Boston Teens," a rowdy couple from the Hub that fought and quickly reconciled, quite sloppily. Rachel Dratch was his significant other.

Among his many recurring roles was the part of mild-mannered and totally creeped out Dave -- the awkward foil to Will Ferrell and Rachel Dratch's college professor TMI-machines.

Before he hosted Late Night, Fallon "hosted" several SNL skits, including one as the BeeGees' Barry Gibb. Notice his partner: Justin Timberlake. More of that soon.

Fallon co-starred alongside Drew Barrymore in this 2005 film by the Farrelly Brothers. It was an adaptation of Nick Hornby's book -- the British author wrote it about Arsenal soccer club, but the American version made them Red Sox fans. Fallon ran on the field when the Sox serendipitously won the World Series in 2004.

Dennis Hope in 'Almost Famous'
Fallon played the bespectacled band manager in the hit 2000 film, directed by Cameron Crowe; he insisted the band Stillwater fly in a plane, not tour bus.

You know you've made it when you've got an ice cream named after you. In 2011, Fallon was honored with "Late Night Snack," a treat consisting of vanilla bean ice cream with a salty caramel swirl and crunchy fudge-covered potato chip clusters

Fallon and his fellow late night host Stephen Colbert have vacillated between being best friends and sworn enemies, fighting over ice cream (Colbert also has a flavor) among many other very important items.

Teaming his musical prowess and his ability to capture the zeitgeist, Fallon used a play on words to create a whole new character: Tebowie, the marriage of David Bowie and then-sensation QB Tim Tebow. Needless to say, Tebowie has been a much bigger success than Tebow in the long run.

Fallon hosted the Prime Time Emmys in 2011; the next year, he won one, for guest hosting on his old stomping grounds, Saturday Night Live.

Could anyone else get the president singing? Probably not, especially during an election campaign, in a very meta video such as this.

To goose ratings and bring some attention to his buddy's new album, Fallon hosted "Justin Timberweek" on Late Night. For an entire week, Timberlake was the musical guest on the show, and participated in plenty of sketches, including another "History of Rap" and a barbershop quartet number.

When Fallon hosted First Lady Michelle Obama earlier this year, he didn't settle just for an interview; he got a viral sensation in their illustrated history of mom dancing.
