A 17-piece collection of rare, art-deco jewels by Cartier and Tiffany & Co. were auctioned off by Christie's for their "Jewels from an American Heiress" sale. The sparklers, belonging to recluse copper heiress Huguette Clark, fetched a combined $20.8 million at auction, marking the second largest private sale in the U.S. over the last decade. Clark died in 2011 at 104-years-old, leaving behind a fortune estimated at $400 million.
