'True Blood' Season 6 Premiere Photos

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer

Paquin and Moyer, co-stars on True Blood and husband and wife in reality, hit the red carpet for the HBO series' sixth-season premiere.

Moyer says of his character Bill Compton's transformation in the new season, "He is out to try and find out what he is and what he can do. He doesn't know. He doesn't know what his powers are; he doesn't know what his purpose is."

Jurnee Smollett-Bell

Smollett-Bell joins the cast of True Blood for its sixth season, debuting as Nicole Wright. She has previously appeared on Friday Night Lights and Full House. 

Karolina Wydra

Wydra is also a True Blood rookie this season, appearing as Violet. She has previously been featured in Crazy, Stupid, Love and House M.D.

Brandon Routh, left, and Courtney Ford

Ford, who plays Portia Bellefleur in True Blood, made an appearance with her husband -- and her Superman -- Brandon Routh, the star of the 2006 film Superman Returns. 

Kristin Bauer van Straten

Van Straten has been a series regular on True Blood since 2009, playing vampire Pam. She also appears in TV shows The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Once Upon a Time. 

Katharine McPhee

McPhee, star of the recently canceled NBC series Smash and winner of American Idol in 2006, made an appearance on the True Blood red carpet. 

Amelia Rose Blaire

Blaire will be debuting on True Blood in its sixth season as Willa Burrell. She has previously appeared briefly in The CW series 90210. 

Janina Gavankar, left, and Sam Trammell

Trammell, who has played Sam Merlotte on True Blood since the series' launch, appeared on the red carpet with Gavankar, who plays Luna Garza in the HBO series. 

Deborah Ann Woll

Woll will be entering her sixth season playing Jessica Hamby on HBO's True Blood. She tells THR that this season may be the bloodiest yet: "I feel like every other day I'm covered in blood or dirt of some kind. By the end of [one scene] I think I had blood on 75 percent of my body. And it was the kind of thing where a week later I was still finding it in my ears."

Rutina Wesley

Wesley, who has played Tara Thornton on HBO's True Blood since the series's debut in 2008, walked the red carpet for the sixth-season premiere. Wesley tells THR that the conflict between humans and vampires in the show is at an all-time high: "We're at war. They shut down all vampire-run business, there's a curfew. It's really tough to survive."

Nelsan Ellis

Ellis is a seasoned veteran on True Blood, having played Lafayette Reynolds, a gay cook and a cousin to Wesley's Tara, since the series premiered.  

Sufe Bradshaw

Bradshaw appeared on the True Blood red carpet for the HBO series' sixth-season premiere. She has been featured most recently on HBO's Veep as Sue Wilson.  

Alexander Skarsgard

Skarsgard reprises his role as Eric Northman, the 1,000-year-old vampire, on the sixth season of the HBO series True Blood.

Jessica Clark

Clark walked the red carpet at the sixth-season premiere of the HBO series True Blood. She will reprise her role as Lilith, the first vampire, this season. 

Joe Manganiello

Manganiello returns to True Blood for a sixth season as werewolf Alcide Herveaux. The Magic Mike star's character on the HBO drama will be dealing with the new stresses of leading a pack.
