This year, there was a bumper crop -- Thor, X-Men: First Class, Green Lantern and Captain America: The First Avenger.What's summer without a Hollywood superhero movie?

Thor (pictured), which has done the best so far, kicked off the summer, while fellow Marvel property Captain America was the season's final entry, opening over the July 22-24 weekend.

If there's any concern, it's that the movies haven't done as much business in North America as their predecessors. Whether it's because of the overall downturn at the box office, or a result of superhero fatigue, remains to be seen.
