'7500' Teaser Trailer: Flying the Unfriendly Skies (Video)
Leslie Bibb, Amy Smart, Ryan Kwanten, Jamie Chung and Jerry Ferrara star in the supernatural thriller.
Plenty of people are already afraid of flying, but for those who aren’t, 7500 might just change your mind.
CBS films released the first trailer for Takashi Shimizu’s scary supernatural thriller, which takes place aboard a trans-Pacific flight to Japan.
The trailer opens with a haunting rendition of “Leaving on a Jet Plane” that sets the mood for one screwed up flight.
Leslie Bibb and Jamie Chung take on the roles of flight attendants, directing passengers to their seats, and telling them to turn off those darn phones and tablets. Among the passengers are Amy Smart, Ryan Kwanten and Jerry Ferrara, who settle in for what they expect to be a long but uneventful 10-hour flight.
But after takeoff, some creepy stuff begins happening, such as all the air being sucked out of Ryan Kwanten’s water bottle. The rest of the trailer contains a lot of jump-cuts showing a lot of dark and scary stuff.
Shimizu (best known for The Grudge) will have to deal with the challenge of playing out the entire film in a fixed location, which has not gone as well for some earlier films (Snakes on a Plane, we’re looking at you). The legendary Japanese horror filmmaker’s thriller hits theaters on August 31.
