'The Avengers': New Poster Hits the Web
The U.K. version of the one-sheet reveals that Marvel's highly anticipated film will be called “Avengers Assemble” across the pond.
One day before a new trailer for The Avengers will be released, Marvel Studios presented fans with a brand new poster.
The photoshop-friendly poster features the superheroes posing among the chaos of New York City. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and the Incredible Hulk (motion-captured Mark Ruffalo) are all featured on the poster. However, none of the superhero clan is wearing a helmet or other protective headgear, so that fans are reminded of all the big-name talent who will be playing their favorite world-saver.
The poster was also released in the U.K., and revealed that the film will be called Avengers Assemble across the pond. It’s set to release there on April 26.
Director Joss Whedon held a Twitter chat with fans in early February. When asked how much preparation he had to do to familiarize himself with Avengers mythology, Whedon revealed, "I had already read them all." He described his interpretation of the material as “a combo platter: classic, Ultimate, plus a little ‘Richie Rich’ & “Mastering the Art of French Cooking’.”
A new trailer for the highly anticipated film will premiere at 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday. The film will premiere in the U.S. on May 4.
