Warner Bros. released the first photos of The Dark Knight Rises villain, Bane (played by Tom Hardy), on Twitter Friday.

The studio's viral video campaign has the Twitter handle @TheFireRises publishing links to a Web site in which you can upload your photo. The photo composite is of Bane.

Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Rises is due in theaters in July 2012.

Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon. Joining the cast are Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway (corrected, faithful readers!), Marion Cotillard and Josh Pence.
