In a competitive situation, Screen Gems has picked up the U.S. rights to Keep Watching, a found footage horror movie starring Bella Thorne and Ioan Gruffudd.

The movie, which previously operated under the title Home Invasion, centers on a dysfunctional family that must fight for their lives against home invaders. Thorne is the family’s disillusioned teen daughter while Gruffudd is the dad.

Chandler Riggs, Natalie Martinez, Matthew Willig and Leigh Whannell also star in the movie.

Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona produced the film through their The Picture Co., as did Voltage Pictures’ Nicolas Chartier and Craig J. Flores.

First-time writer Joseph Dembner wrote the script from an idea he concocted with Heineman. It was directed by first-time director Sean Carter.

The deal for the movie, which had a budget of under $5 million, also included many international territories. Screen Gems is said to view the film as a potential franchise-starter in the fashion of an Insidious.

WME Entertainment represented domestic rights.
