Blair Erickson to Write, Direct Horror Film 'The Banshee Chapter'
Zachary Quinto’s Before the Door Pictures is producing with Sunchaser Entertainment.
Transmedia director Blair Erickson will make his feature directorial debut with the horror film The Banshee Chapter from an original screenplay he wrote.
Based on real CIA secret programs, Chapter follows a young, female journalist tracking a missing friend who had been experimenting with mind-altering chemicals developed in secret government drug tests. It is scheduled to start shooting next month in New Mexico.
Zachary Quinto’s Before the Door Pictures is producing the project with Sunchaser Entertainment. Sunchaser's Stephanie Riggs and BTD’s Corey Moosa are producing; Christian Arnold-Beutel (The Ledge) will serve as executive producer along with Quinto and BTD’s Neal Dodson and Sean Akers.
"We are excited to branch out in our storytelling," said Quinto (Margin Call). "The Banshee Chapter is an opportunity for us to tackle another film with its roots in reality, but through the lens of horror."
Before the Door produced Margin Call, which had its premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and will be released by Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate in October.
As the creative director of Omnicom's high-tech interactive agency "Millions of Us," Erickson wrote and directed an online alternate reality live-action thriller for the Terminator franchise and directed the online live-action with animated monsters for DreamWorks Animation's Monsters vs. Aliens.
